They only met in dreams.
In reality, they lived in different worlds, different lives. But in their shared dreamscape, they built a home, a love, a life.
One night, he held her close. “I don’t want to wake up.”
She pressed a kiss to his forehead. “Then find me.”
He woke to the familiar ache of her absence, her name echoing like a prayer on his tongue.
He would continue to work to pry open the boundary between their realities until they breathed the same air at last.
